2025 TIP Information

TIP is for golfers seeking a more competitive experience. TIP is an 18-hole, two-person team, low net match play event. You’ll be paired with another Hasentree player. The two Hasentree players are a team and they compete against another participating club team.

How do I participate? The TIP coordinator sends out the schedule of TIP events and asks if you would like to participate and to rank your preference of events. Only four players per club can participate and there are seven events per year.  

 

The Hasentree TIP coordinators form the teams and alternate players for each event based on participant preferences as selected prior to the season opener.

 

TIP league:  Hasentree, Carolina CC, Croasdaile, Governors Club, Heritage, MacGregor, Wakefield, Bentwinds, Brier Creek, Chapel Hill, Devils Ridge, North Ridge, Prestonwood, and  River Ridge. 

 

The playing season is April - October. You must have a handicap index of 35 or below to participate. Points are awarded to each team per match. Points accumulate throughout the year to determine a TIP club winner.

DETAILS: Each club shall field four (4) women for each TIP contest. They will play as two, two-women teams.  At every event, two teams from one club will play two teams from another club.  The outcome of the matches will be determined by the net best ball. Participants are required to have amateur status with a USGA Index of no more than 35.  Only 90% of handicap will be used.  The player with the lowest handicap (Player A) shall be teamed with the player having the third-lowest handicap (Player C).  The second-lowest handicap player (Player B) shall be teamed with the highest handicap player (Player D).  AC/BD teams from each club.  Each pair shall play the corresponding pair of the competition. Strokes are determined by the lowest handicap player. In the event a club cannot field the required number of players, we have the ability to send one or two players where we can accumulate points.

 

FEES:: Cart fee only and varies by club. Boxed lunches may be available. Pricing varies by club.
